How Long Does A Criminal Case Typically Take?
The length of each case depends on each case. Certainly cases happen faster than other cases do. One of the main things is whether you are in custody or are free for the most part if you are not in custody or jail or prison it is a benefit for us to have more time to do it. Because the more time you have out the more time I have also left to prepare and focus and to think through things. Because remember when the case starts the government knows everything and we don’t know anything. So they got a head start and we need to catch up with them. There are certainly cases where they maybe times it is to our advantage to speed it up and we have done that before where it be a speedy trial request or just getting in the case late and getting ready quickly. But those are generally choices that you and the client make.
