Art Scholarship Program

5th Annual Nelson Defense Group Art Scholarship

The Nelson Defense Group is pleased to announce its fifth annual Nelson Defense Group Art Scholarship in support of the arts and in recognition of the talent, imagination, and creativity of local young artists. The Nelson Defense Group Art Scholarship awards a $500 scholarship to three students and is available to all current high school students located in St. Croix County (Baldwin-Woodville High School, Glenwood City High School, Hudson High School, New Richmond High School, St. Croix Central High School, and Somerset High School).

“Our team is really looking forward to reviewing the artwork and applications for this year’s Nelson Defense Group Art Scholarship,” said Attorney Aaron A. Nelson, founder of the Nelson Defense Group. “It is truly inspiring to witness the creativity and passion of these young artists and to have the opportunity to support them in their artistic journeys.”

All submissions must include original artwork that was created for the purposes of the scholarship application or prepared during an art course this academic school year. In addition to the $500 scholarship award, students that are selected will have their artwork displayed in the offices of the Nelson Defense Group for one year prior to returning the artwork to the student.

High school students interested in applying for the Nelson Defense Group Art Scholarship are encouraged to complete the online scholarship application form. The deadline to submit an application, along with a color photo of the original artwork to be considered, is April 1st.
